1. Fundal Massage Is Really Painful


The fundal massage is given by the care provider in and down firmly at the top of the uterus of the mother (as the uterus is as high as the belly button after pregnancy). The care provider vigorously massages the uterus to make it behave like normal. After the delivery of the baby, the uterus should be free from blood clots, and it should be firm. Pressing the uterus down helps in avoiding severe complication, that is a postpartum hemorrhage. The fundal massage is not such a relaxing massage that is applied on the belly during the body spa.
