Third trimester? Don't sleep on your back.
In the third trimester of your pregnancy, it's hard to get comfortable. Now it appears that it is not wise to sleep on your back.
Research at the University of Auckland shows that the heartbeat of a fetus is less active when a woman is sleeping on her back than when she is lying on her side.
It was already known that the blood pressure of pregnant women falls when she is lying on her back.
The women who were examined were between 34 and 38 weeks pregnant.
Preferably not on the back
According to the researchers, most pregnant women will say at any stage that they would rather not sleep on their backs, but the researchers think it is important that now this attitude is sensible.
What is / was your favorite sleeping position during the last weeks of your pregnancy?
