Your pregnancy at 33 weeks
What's happening with mum
As milk production ramps up in expectation of the birth, not only will your breasts become larger and heavier, the glands surrounding the nipples may become more noticeable and even change colour, darkening to a deep brown. This is normal as these are tiny oil producing glands which help to moisturize the area surrounding the nipple, stopping it from drying out and cracking.
What's happening with baby
By this week your baby will weigh approximately 3 to 4lbs and, if not already in the birth position, will continue to manoevre until he finds himself head down and ready to engage.
This week marks an important milestone in your baby's development and he will now be in posession of a developing fetal immune system. This means important antibodies are being passed from you to your unborn child, preparing him better for life outside the womb.
If you are 33 pregnant your due date is from Wednesday, 1 May 2024 through Tuesday, 7 May 2024.
