What's happening with mum

As your swelling uterus continues to grow you will most likely find your belly button popping out. You may also find the blood vessels in your breasts continue to become more visible and those blue veins becoming more obvious.

You may also find sleeping difficult as many pregnant women find they have unpleasant dreams and even nightmares around this time. Leg cramps and twitching legs can also contribute to uncomfortable nights but these symptoms unless extreme are normal. Just try to get as much rest as you can and take a little light walking after eating helps not only alleviate cramps but can aid digestion.

What's happening with baby

It is estimated that baby is now gaining around 5 to 6 ounces a week, much of which will be bone, muscle, organs and that important layer of fat which will fill out their wrinkly skin and form a protective layer around them.

Baby's face is now fully formed and recognisable as a small person. The development of pigment will soon turn their white hair to the colour it will be at birth.

If you are 24 pregnant your due date is from Wednesday, 3 July 2024 through Tuesday, 9 July 2024.
