Apple has done something very shocking; they have decided to disable the jailbreak detection API in iOS 4.2. The reason as to why Apple has done this has not been disclosed but speculation is mounting that they have become tired of the constant battle between Cupertino and hackers when it comes to jailbreaking and unlocking the iPhone and cheack in ios app ranking. It has always been that no matter what measures Apple has put in place hackers have always found a way to jailbreak the iDevices.
When Apple launched iOS 4.0 they added a new API that was able to detect jailbreaks but now only six months later they have removed it with the release of iOS 4.2. The reason has not been disclosed and the removal was done silently. There are plenty of jailbreak tools available to help jailbreak any iOS device including the iPhone, iPod Touch and the iPad. These jailbreak tools have all been developed by hackers and will void your iDevice’s warranty but they are in fact no longer illegal.

Jailbreaking and unlocking are now legal procedures in the USA
Now I know you are probably wondering why Apple removed the API that would help developers to check whether or not an iOS device had been jailbroken. We actually have no idea why they did this, maybe now that it’s legal to do so they don’t want to waste their time. Who knows, they might even be looking at implementing an even better solution to detect jailbroken devices.

I’m sure there will be more information released about this whole iOS API jailbreak removal and as soon as we hear anything we will be sure to let you know. There are plenty of iPhone jailbreak and unlock tools coming in the future and if you own an iPhone 4 running iOS 4.2.1 keep your eyes peeled as there is sure to be an unlock solution released anytime soon.
