When can I expect my baby? The average pregnancy last 280 days from the last menstrual period,
or, more accurate, 266 days from your ovulation. This calculator simply adds 266 or 280 days
from your last period or ovulation date. See `How far along am I` for a more detailed calendar.

*Last menstrual period = The last time you had your period, first day of flow.
*Day of ovulation = Use this date when you know when ovulation happened. (More accurate)


Things to know

  1. Your due date is an estimate, it is an average. The chart below shows that not everyone gives birth on the due date:
    In week 38, 2 weeks before the due date, 2 out of 10 women will give birth.
    In week 39, 1 week before the due date, 2 out of 10 women will give birth.
    In week 40, the due date, 3 out of 10 women will give birth.
    In week 41, 1 week after the due date, 2 out of 10 women will give birth.
    It is very unlikely that your baby will gestate for longer than 42 weeks. In such cases, estimated due dates may have been incorrectly calculated.
