In Fertility > Pregnancy tests
My body had been acting weird lately. I`ve taken pregnancy tests they keep showing up negative even the one at the doctors. But I feel pregnant and have the symptoms. I`ve had aunt flow twice but it was like it wasn`t my period. I did take a test a while ago during the week I was due and it came up positive. But everyone told me to disregard it. I had another positive yet negative test a couple of weeks ago and lately I have had more symptoms. I`m not too sure if it`s all in my head or not and if it`s not I`d be about 10 - 11 weeks.

Wow. I`m at that age and it took us a year to get pregnant. And it is not up to `god`. It`s your biology that determines it- that part you got right!

Hi sweet mammaa. All I can suggest is that if you find you can`t give them up completely- you go down to one smoke a day. One cigarette a day is not going to harm the baby or cause premature birth. One pack a day will. Good luck, cut back now!

This is a lie. It`s different for every woman. I`m at that age and first time I had sex with my husband I got my daughter that same week. My test was positive. Don`t let these ignorant people tell I different. And yes I`m 35. Don`t let that 16% fool u. It`s whatever you body and god says.. These doctors and scientist don`t know a dang thing about u or ur body..

I`m 29 weeks and 1 day and I smoke cigarettes and really afraid of the premature birth thing can someone please give me some advice besides quitting

In Growth and Development > Smoking
I smoke one cigarette every Friday evening (during this preganancy and my first). It gives me something to look forward to- besides the beautiful baby!!! It is a small and selfish `reward` that I convinced myself will not effect the child in any way.

I mean, think about it. Until the 80s- women were still smoking 1-2 packs a day while pregnant. All of those people are grown adults now. My husband, SIL and mother are three people whose mothers smoked throughout their pregnancies-heavily. They have no health problems to speak of. We went from a society that doesn`t give a rat`s a$$ about introduced toxins in the fetal environment to a society that is completely paranoid about everything!

I say, if you can do things in moderation- a cigarette a week, a glass of wine a month- go for it. If you cannot control yourself, then stop completely. I know I am going to receive some backlash for this comment, but I don`t care. My kid has been exposed to the bare minimum in regards to toxic cigarette smoke. And I truly believe she`ll be a stronger person for it after she is born.

To the ladies with cramps...my obgyn said they are normal. It`s the uterus contracting and expanding. I have them intermittently. They are not severe though. Like early days before getting period. They come and go. It`s been a few days but I take it as a good sign. Kind of like morning sickness... That`s a sign of a healthy pregnancy. Sending love and happy thoughts your way. Hope your bundle of joy is growing like it should! Xoxo

@bhornsby1986 - “Hi. I am going on 5 ...„
it`s normal,generally in early pregnancy up about 13 weeks, you will feel something that is like menstral cramping, it`s your uterus growing, if you become more worried about it, or the cramping grows worse, then see your gynocologist.
