No matter how old you are it is important to eat healthy and cut out smoking and alcohol during your pregnancy. However, pregnancy can have consequences and affect your life differently depending on your age and circumstances.

Women who get pregnant between 18 and 25 usually have more energy and are fitter than older woman making them more likely to be able to cope physically with the demands of a new baby. Your body is still supple and will be more likely to recover quickly from the pregnancy and delivery.

However, your social life will have to be put on hold and your studies and/or new job will also have to take a backseat meaning more of your personal wants have to be sacrificed to be able to buy the things your baby will need when he arrives.

With planning and support there is no reason why you cannot cope perfectly well having a baby in your twenties and remember everyone is different and some women cope better than others.

I`m 21 and I have been diagnosed with PCOS. I have an appointment with a gynecologist and hopefully they will help me. Praying to conceive, me and partner are impatient to have a baby.
