As with most things it is impossible to generalize about the reaction of the hair to increased levels of pregnancy hormone. Some women will find their hair appears thicker and shinier and even grows quicker.

However, all the changes in the body can result in your hair drying out and even breaking off and in extreme cases the hair can fall out. If you find that your hair is suffering there are some steps you can take to help:

Try to avoid using a hairdryer by letting your hair dry out natural

Try homemade and natural hair applications such as fruit or vegetable conditioners. Many recipes are available including those with a mix of natural oils and honey, melons, banana, scalp massage can be both stimulating for the hair and relaxing for you

A cut which requires less products and styling to manage or one which is layered to disguise any broken ends can also improve the looks and feel of your hair. 

If in doubt consult your hairdresser who can advise the best natural products and shapes for you.
