Potty training girls

Baby > Growth and Development > Potty training girls

As with boys, girls potty training must be done when your child is ready and you have the time to give it your full attention. Buying a potty and some pants is always a good start.

Allowing your daughter to go with you to the toilet is a great way to show them how to use the potty and using the same words for toilet functions such as pee and poo will give them the new words they need to tell you when they have to go.

Let them wear their new pants instead of a nappy to get them used to the clean feel of them and don't scold them if they have accidents but praise them when they remember to use the potty.

Give them small incentives and let them play with the potty by showing them how their favourite toy can it on it too.

I like the idea of letting them decorate their potty to make it more personal.
